Self Defense Bowl 2013
What: Unique training event focusing on useful “street” hand to hand techniques and “real world” concealed carry firearms.
When: February 2, 2013 9am-5pm
Where: Universal Shooting Academy / Frostproof, FL
Who: Phil Peplinski and Shannon Smith
A firearm is not always available as an option and is not always the best option.
Phil Peplinski will be teaching integrated options to supplement use of the handgun. Pre-emptive striking, getting the biggest bang for the buck and when it’s appropriate. The O.S. factor and first response to reduce damage and turn the tables. Dealing with multiple threats, use of environment and positioning to your advantage. Weapon access and retention. Dealing with edged weapons and firearms from a defensive standpoint.
Shannon Smith will be teaching his ‘concealed carry for the real world’ course. If you carry a full size handgun in an OWB holster with a photographers vest covering it you will still get value from this course but it is geared towards the guns most of us normal people actually carry. You’ll get the opportunity to live fire draw your kel-tec, LCP, G26, or J frame from your pocket, ankle holster, back pack, purse, fanny pack or wherever you really carry it. How accurate are you with it? Will it penetrate a car door? Drywall? Could you make a shot on a moving target with friendlies around in bad lighting? In say…..a theater? Should you try? You’ll find the answers to these and more questions.
