Charity Stuffs
We support the Special Operations Warrior Foundation and The Rangers Scholarship Fund and have for a number of years now. In the past I’ve raffled guns and had special matches. Didn’t make time to get that done this year. So I’m going to donate all the proceeds from the December local matches. I may even raise the match fee a bit or just ask that you give a little extra. These are super low overhead charities that do great things for the families of those that have made the ultimate sacrifice. I would also ask that your consider these groups in your normal charitable givings. Thank you.
USPSA Multigun Nationals
We have the Multigun Nationals here in April next year. I am the Match Director and making most all of the decisions on this match. I’ve been pushing USPSA to cultivate newer Range Officers that are in the sport primarily to shoot. This is my time to put up or shut up. I would like to ask my local crowd of pistol and 3 gunners alike to consider getting more involved in working matches. Yeah, it’s a long weekend (or week in this case) and I certainly know not everyone has that kind of time but it’s actually kinda fun. You get your match fee covered plus a little cash, free food and beer. And we have fun shooting on staff day. In the case of this match your are a normal shooter shooting for score and walking the prize table. Just shoot the two days before the main match starts.
You don’t have to be an RO and you don’t have to be MG certified though both are desirable. The Wyoming Antelope Club in Clearwater is running all three courses the weekend of Dec 9. RO, CRO, and MG certification. Universal will cover any tuition to these courses if you are working the Multigun Nationals. WAC has generously offered to cover the MG certification if you are working Multigun. I’ll cover RO course if needed. If you are not an RO and do the RO course you may still take the MG course the same time/weekend.
Here is info from Dan Bernard the POC on the RO courses in Clearwater:
WAC is hosting several NROI Classes 8-9 Dec 2018:
Level 1 RO (Sat-Sun) Cost $40, register on USPSA web page under “Find NROI Seminar”
Level 2 CRO (Sat-Sun) Cost $40, register on USPSA web page under “Find NROI Seminar”
Multigun RO: Sun 1300-1600, Cost $20 (free to MG Nats Staff) register by emailing bernardd@baytobay.org. Must be NROI RO, however if you attend the class 8-9 Dec you are eligible)
Also on the Wednesday of the match which would be the last day of the Staff Shoot USPSA will be offering the MG certification. Just takes a few hours. You do need to be certified as an RO before taking this MG cert.
Lastly if you’re an RO or CRO but not interested in shooting Multigun, if you’d like to work the Multigun Nationals I’ll apply the match fee benefit to any major match we run in 2019.
I’m really just trying to staff the match with RO’s that are active shooters and get more folks involved in working.
If you are interested please send a separate email to me.
Lastly, lastly, I’m on my annual quest for deers and maintaining my ability to live off the land. I’ll be totally unavailable Nov 17-21 and very limited access 22-25. Back to my normal barely available self Nov 26.
On the rare chance you’re still with me, thanks for reading this far. Have a great Thanksgiving.
