Lots going on gang, hope all is well. Man this year is flying by.
USPSA
This Sunday. 6 stages including a classifier. Some FL Open similar stages and some from 3Gun Nation. 5 large field courses and a piddly little classifier.
This will be a SLOT Match for the Central Florida Section. If you don’t know what that means then it doesn’t apply to you, just a normal match, come on out!

Registration just opened for this match and it’s filling crazy fast. If you want in you’d better hurry up. We are also gathering staff for this match, see below.

USPSA IS CANCELED for this Sunday at Universal.
MULTIGUN IS CANCELED this month due to 3 Gun Nation being in town.
DPL IS CANCELED this month due to 3 Gun Nation begin in town.
On a related note. 3 Gun Nation announced they are waiving the membership fee if you sign up for the Regional Championship. Details on their website. But a $45 value if you wanted to shoot the Regional. It’s going to be great match, if you’re a 3 gunner you shouldn’t miss it.

Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, Happy New Year, Happy Chanukah, Happy Kwanza and anything else I missed. Hope your silly season is going well.
USPSA Multigun
This Saturday the 23rd. Normal Multigun match. We promote our December match as our “Goofy Gun” match, started last year. Good excuse to come shoot guns in your safe that don’t get much love. Not necessary and otherwise a normal match but if you’d like to participate there will be at least a few of us doing it.
5 stages: 100 rifle, 100 pistol, 50 bird, 5 slug will do ya.

On the Horizon
USPSA in January will be an all classifier match
USPSA in February will be our Central Florida Section Slot Match
Florida State Championship is pretty full.
Florida Open is pretty full.
I will be making some adjustments over Christmas week adding a bit to squad sizes, maybe adding a squad so stay tuned if you’d like be on a different day or different squad.
We could still use some staff for the State. I’ll be scrubbing the list and contacting folks in the next week on that also.

Universal News 9/20/17

Hello shooters,
Warning: this email will be longer than normal
I feel almost back to normal. As I mentioned I was out of the country for 21 days with very poor to zero internet connection. Then back into a hurricane and no power for almost a week. All resources are restored now and I spent yesterday and so far today trying to catch up on match stuff and emails. I’ve cleared about a week back and will be continuing the rest of this week to catch up.
If you requested a refund due to storm issues for Scattergun or PCCpalooza I think I have completed all those as of now. A few asked for application to future matches. If you requested a refund and did not receive it please email me (on a new email, not a reply to this one) and let me know. I either may have missed it or haven’t gotten that far back yet.
MULTIGUN
USPSA Multigun is on for this Saturday. We have all the Scattergun and PCC stages still up so I will be able to jump off them and make some good stuff I think. I know some want a re-run of the buckshot stage from Scattergun so if you have 8-10 Buck, bring them. But there will be a bird/slug option to avoid Buck if you don’t have it. 9 pellet max on the buck if used. Otherwise the normal 100 rifle, 100 pistol, 50 bird, and 5 slug will get you through.

Steel Challenge
Is back on for tomorrow for our Thursday matches. Will be on Oct. 7 for our sanctioned match. I didn’t upload this months match yet. No great excuse other than I’ve been gone and then no power. I’ll get it up tomorrow. I apologize for slacking on this. I’ll do better and set up a better system to get it done in a timely manner for the future.
October: USPSA ON, Multigun and DPL OFF (due to Monster Match)
November: TBD. I’ll be out of town for both weekends will check with my back up crew.

Special Operations Warrior Foundation – Ranger Scholarship Fund Raffle
We have a lightly used S&W M&P 15 donated by a club member we will be raffling off during The Monster Match in Oct.  Gun is on display at the range. If you have a spare buck….or 50, 100% of the money is going directly to the charities and these guys have super low overhead. It will directly support the families of our fallen veterans.

Scattergun

Will be run under USPSA Multigun rules including Divisions. We will be recognizing Open and Tactical. We are recognizing Categories and Overall 1-10. We will not be recognizing Classes. Trophy match. There will not be stationary RO’s, you will run yourself similar to a club match. There will be a dedicated Squad Leader should questions arise. We will have a Range Master as well as the final authority.

Entry fee: $45
Stages: 8
Round Count: TBD but expect in the 200 range including slugs and possibly buck.
Registration: Match Sign Up (opens August 5)
Check in @ Range: 0800
Shooters Meeting: 0845
Shooting Starts: 0900

 

PCCpalooza

Will be run under USPSA rules. We are recognizing Categories and Overall 1-10. We will not be recognizing Classes. Interested in shooting both matches??

Great news!! You will be able to do so for full price of each match. Please sign up for each on Match Sign Up separately. We will have some special prizes for those shooting both matches. Not fully decided yet but it will be some cool stuff. I’m thinking cash for the top 3 and anyone shooting both will be entered for a random draw for some swag…..and a gun!! Cash will depend on how many entries we have. Obviously I expect more in the Tactical/PCC than in Open/PCC but I’ll figure something fair. Aggregate score will be your match percentage in Division.

Universal News Special

Hello shooters,
Sorry for the off week email but I need to set the dates for the PCC Pallooza and Scattergun Challenge and wanted to do a last ditch check on conflicts.
Format will be PCC only on one day and Shotgun only on the other day. With a special prize for combined results should you shoot both. Trophy only match with some goodie give aways and likely some cash prizes for the combined top 3 or something. Entry fee will be reasonable as it has been.
Below are the three options. I’m aware of the Sunshine games. If there are additional conflicts specifically with 3 gun type matches that may draw away our competitors please let me know. Not that I don’t respect your preference but I can’t please everyone so please respond with conflicts…not your personal preference.
I also haven’t decided on which day for PCC or Shotgun so if you have a compelling reason for one or the other, other than personal preference please let me know that as well.

Hello Shooters,
Just finished up the US IPSC Nationals this weekend, it went off without a hitch. Great time was had by all. Hope you didn’t miss it.
MULTI GUN
This Saturday. It was brought to my attention I had the wrong date on the website listing the match as Sunday. That was a mistake….it is the Saturday as always for multigun.
Should have some cool stages as we have all the stages from US IPSC still up plus I have a cool idea for the Tac Bay.
Will be some transitioning around the range as I plan to use all of it but I’ll keep the stages fast and furious to beat the summer heat.
