USPSA NATIONALS TO BE HOSTED AT UNIVERSAL SHOOTING ACADEMY
I am pleased to announce the Open/L-10/Limited National Championships will be held at USA this year AND 2016. This year the match will be the first full week in October. There will be much more info coming on this in the future.
USPSA
Our normal local match is on schedule for February 8. It will be a special classifier match. At least 4, maybe 5 or 6 classifiers along with 1 or 2 field courses. Maybe we’ll reshoot one or two of the FL State stages.

Walkthrough: 9:30
Fee: $25 ($5 increase for the extra classifier fees)
We will have practice available after the match for an additional $10
USADPL
Our first Universal Shooting Academy Defensive Pistol League match will be February 7, the day before our normal USPSA match. I will have the basic rule book (3 pages) on the website this week along with some additional information. For this first match I will limit it to under 50 rounds. Maybe we’ll allow shooting it twice for those that want to shoot more. More info to come on this.

3 GUN
TIME CHANGE ON 3 GUN MATCH. Normal 3 gun match this coming Saturday. 100 rifle, 100 pistol, 50 bird, 5 slug will do ya as usual. I’m going to change the time to match our other local matches. I had originally made it a little later on request from some dudes traveling a little farther. However they never come so I’m changing it.

I didn’t get much feed back on the 3 Gun Nation conversation on the previous email. So we are holding fast with what we got at the moment, maybe we can chat about it during the match a little.
A6MG match is open for registration on MatchSignUp. Prize table is already shaping up to be pretty nice. Better than last year for sure.
We had a great turnout and great match this weekend at FL State! Thanks to all involved for making it a huge success. We’ll have it here again next year.

We are on for Saturday the 27th. Hope some of you have new toys to come try out. Normal local 3 gun match, 5 stages. 100 pistol, 100 rifle, 50 bird, 5 slug will do ya.

We will be using the tablet electronic scoring. So registration may take a bit longer as I figure out what the heck I’m doing. It worked well for the pistol match last week and scores were done quick.
A63G registration will open the first week of January
Charity Match
Huge thank you for the great turn out last week at our charity match. I haven’t done the final final accounting yet but it will be over $1000 to EACH organization. Much more than we were able to give last year. I will be writing the checks next week and will let you know the exact amount. Thanks a ton!!!
USADPL
I plan to figure the day of the month and a loose rule set for the USA Defensive Pistol League over the holiday break. I have received a lot of great input from you guys. Keep it coming if you have any thoughts. I’m excited for this new venture. For those of you defensive minded and/or who may carry for defense I think this will be right up your alley.

It’s has been a while since you have heard from me. Tons of info in this email, please share with those that may be interested.
USPSA
We WILL be having our normal second Sunday match this coming Sunday. I will be out of town but Duane and Andy will be running the match. Thanks to them as always. There will not be Steel Challenge or Practice available at this match.

We likely will be having the December 3 gun match. It’s a couple days after Christmas so you can bring out your new toys. I’ll be in touch next month with more info. Also we have the A6 3 Gun coming back in March. More to come on that as well.
ZOMBIE MATCH Dec 20th Canceled – Not enough turnout.
CHARITY MATCH
On December 20 in place of the Zombie Match we will be hosting a charity USPSA match. We will shoot stages 1-11 of World Shoot XVII but using USPSA rules. I’ll figure the round count but probably 150 or so.
This will support The Rangers Scholarship Fund and the Special Operations Warrior Foundation. These are two charities that USA supports and we would appreciate your help. Whether you can make the match or not I urge you to consider these in your charitable donations. I have been personally in contact with both organizations and feel confident the maximum amount of money goes to the cause. The cause in this case is helping families or our soldiers.
We will have some raffles and I will see about having pizza and beer or something after the match if there is interest.

FLORIDA STATE CHAMPIONSHIP
It will be back at USA next year. A little short notice as the club that was supposed to do it changed their mind. However I’ll assemble the A Team and we will put on an outstanding Championship as we always do. I am going to lobby for it to be here for 3 years so we can establish a pattern. Then it can migrate to another club after they have time to formulate a plan.
The match is January 16-18 and registration is already live on MatchSignUp.org. I built a page on our website for the match but haven’t populated it yet. Will have more info up there this week.
FLORIDA OPEN
Back again, awesome as ever. Registration is open for this as well on Match. And much more info will be coming on our site.
STAFF FOR MAJORS
One of my goals for this year is to better handle managing of Staff for matches. I’m thinking about an application process so I can track who I have and who I don’t rather than the free for all I’ve been using. I will be in touch soon with a solution.
CHANGES TO LOCAL MATCHES FOR NEXT YEAR
Here is my current vision but you are the customer and my main goal is to make you happy as well as creating more of you.
Steel Challenge despite my efforts has just not been successful or popular. We will not be holding regular SC matches in 2015. In many cases I will have some stages set up and they will be available for practice during normal match days like usual. I also plan to have local matches in the months preceding the National and World SC matches.
Action Steel is in the same boat. Although I personally think it’s super cool I’m obviously in the minority. So it too, will be suspended. We may have one or two on a limited basis but not regularly.
IDPA
I am considering starting an IDPA club. I must admit however IDPA HQ has not made it easy. We do not have enough local SO’s which are now required even for local matches. And last time I spoke to the AD there were no classes scheduled in central Florida. Frankly they just weren’t helpful in helping me get a new club started.
So that leaves me with a couple choices.
We can start an IDPA ‘like’ match using IDPA rules, targets, etc. Then when we have enough local support and interest I can probably get an instructor to our area for an SO class. Then we would have to have enough folks that wanted to become SO’s in order to run a local match according to the proper rules and then we could affiliate.
Or, we can start the USADPL Universal Shooting Academy Defensive Pistol League. This would be similar to IDPA in the lesser round count, less complexity of target arrangements, defensive gear and divisions, etc. But I could incorporate rules I think more realistic for tactical training or defensive use while keeping the marksmanship requirement and fun factor high. A couple thoughts would be no 10 round limit on mags. And incorporate some Action Steel type stages into the local match. I have many other ideas as well.
But like I said….you’re the customer. I’m interested in opinions. Also please share with any friends who may be more into IDPA or defensive shooting who might be interested. Thanks.

Hello Shooters,
Hard to believe summer is almost over!
Reminder: THERE IS NOT A MATCH AT UNIVERSAL THIS WEEKEND
Due to preparations for the World Shoot we will not have any matches probably for the remainder of the year. I will keep in contact so you know for sure but definitely nothing in August, September or October. We are tearing down everything on the stages this week and starting to build the WS stages next week. Gonna be a busy couple of months.
Other items of note:
Marc Weir and Road Ends Practical Shooters will be having a holiday Zombie Match on December 20. More information can be found on his website and you can sign up on MatchSignUp. Should be a fun time with cool prizes.
The NOK Down Steel is kinda up in the air for this year. I’ll see if we can fit it in the schedule somewhere. Maybe I’ll look at January instead of December. Will let you know.
The beginning of 2015 will be super busy as always at USA. We have the FL Open in February, the A6 Multigun in March and A6 Pistol Championship in April. More info for those matches on our website and I’ll send reminders when registration opens for each.
Don’t forget the US IPSC Nationals will be at our range in October on the exact same stages as World Shoot XVII. Your chance to test your skillz against the best in the world. You can still sign up on MatchSignUp.

Little late this week on the email sorry.
We will have our 3 gun match this Saturday. We WILL NOT have Action Steel. Instead we will shoot 4 stages from the Pro Am without the par time and you may load to capacity. We will also be offering practice.
3 GUN
5 Stages
Stages will be built tomorrow, but I plan to keep them a little shorter and probably a few less rounds due to the heat and trying to get done a little earlier. We will probably use a couple of the Pro Am stages also for Shotgun and Pistol.
100 rifle, 100 pistol, 50 bird should do it.
Fee: $20

ProAm ish thing
We will run 4 stages from the Pro Am…all falling steel. Each stage requires 28-40 rounds. We will run 2 divisions, iron sights or open sights. You may load to your firearms’ capacity. We will score it time plus…..3 seconds for any misses. Same as we score Action Steel.
Fee: $10

Practice
After the match practice will be available on most of the range until 5pm.

NOTES
 
Marc will be holding his Road Ends match next weekend. (Aug 2)
This will be the final PCPS match until late November or maybe even December. We have World Shoot prep starting next week through the WS then USIPSC Nationals, then the usual volley of mid level matches around Florida in the fall plus holidays. I will keep everyone posted with an email here and there.
We have the USIPSC Nationals open for registration. This is your chance to shoot the same stages from World Shoot XVII. 30 stages in 3 days. Heck of an opportunity to go up against the best in the world.
Next spring our usual crazy schedule returns with the FL Open in Feb, A6 MG in March, A6 Pistol in April.

5 Stages of multigun excitement. Come check it out in preparation for the Area 6 Multigun Championship next month! We will not be running the same stages but will be testing out some features for next month. Building stages today and tomorrow so don’t know exact round counts yet but the typical 100 rifle, 100 pistol, 50 bird, 5 slug will do ya.
Action Steel

Walkthrough: 9:30
Fee: $15 first gun, $5 second gun
5 stages (Maybe 6) of blazing steel fun. Everyone who shoots this format says they like. Field course layout with non-reactive steel. It runs super fast, no reset, great for the summer Florida days. Match usually complete by 11:30.
Practice
Fee: $10
Hang out after the match and work on plate racks, stages, long range, pretty much whatever you want. I prefer if you shoot with a buddy, please get verbal permission from me if you want to shoot on your own.
You can shoot both matches for $30. Must shoot 3 gun first. Pack a lunch, take a break and go knock out the steel match. Must have two folks together to shoot the steel. Need someone to RO.
Area 6 Multigun Match is getting close to full. If you want in please hurry. US IPSC Nationals has plenty of room still. Both matches open for registration on Match Sign Up.

Holy cow is this going to be a busy Sunday (March 9)!!
USPSA
We will be shooting 6 stages from the FL Open. Stages 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 11. No classifier this month. Big round count, bring plenty of ammo.
Sign up opens at 8:45 with walkthrough at 9:30
Fee: $20
Steel Challenge
All 8 official stages of the Steel Challenge will be open for business! Come get some practice in before the Steel Nationals in Titusville in a couple weeks.
Sign up opens 8:45. You can shoot steel for score at anytime throughout the day, just have to have at least two people together. To RO, score and for safety.
Fee: $15 for one gun, $5 for the second gun.
Shoot both matches for $30
Bianchi Cup!!
We are showcasing NRA Action Pistol also know as the Bianchi Cup this match for no fee. We will have RO’s and officials familiar with the match to direct you. We are tying for all 4 official stages but will be doing 3 for sure. I will produce scores for those that shoot all the available stages. If you just want to try out a stage or two that’s fine also. This is a high accuracy match that I’ve always wanted to try out! Looking forward to it and interested to see how everyone likes it. So bring some extra ammo (200 if we shoot all 4 stages) and give it a shot! Ha!! Get it…..give it a shot!!!……HA!!!!
Practice 
Practice available after the match on all FL Open stages, Steel Challenge and rifle range. I prefer you have at least one person with you while practicing.

Other News
 
We will have a professional film crew out on Sunday working on some promo stuff. Be on your best behavior, comb your hair, and wear clean underwear. Maybe you’ll make the final cut!!
Road Ends Practical Shooters will be having their USPSA match on March 15 at our range. We’re excited to be offering another shooting opportunity and thanks to Marc Weir for bring Road Ends back! Practice will not be available after the Road Ends matches for the moment. I won’t be there this month and I will have to figure a plan if folks are wanting to practice on Road Ends days.
3 Gun local this will be on for the 22nd! I will be gone at the Steel Nationals but Duane and Andy will be running the match. Big thanks to them.
RO match open to all is on the 29th, still room in that. It’s gonna be a pretty good match with a very good prize table. You should check it out.
The following weekend is back to Zombie slaying action on March 5 with Zombie Shooters Association!
Area 6 Three Gun is a go!! Last weekend in June. Sign up will open April 1 on MatchSignUp with more info to follow on our website.
